During Sturgis Middle School's Hope for Homes campaign, led by Kim Harlow and The Student Lighthouse Team, approximately 2,500 items were donated including blankets, toiletries, veggies, ramen, etc.  Mac and Cheese Monday was a huge hit as 300-400 of the items were boxes of Mac and Cheese.

Items were donated to four different groups.  Keystone Place is getting the toiletries and blankets as well as some hats, mittens, gloves and scarves.  The school weekend backpack program (Helping Hands) received the main chunk of the food including Mac and Cheese, Peanut Butter, Cereal and Soup. The Pregnancy Helpline in Sturgis received some baby items that were donated along with smaller blankets, and hats and mittens.  The rest went the St. Vincent Depaul Helping Hands through Holy Angels group as they are getting a bunch of food.

Mr. Smith's 7th grade class was the top class as a whole, followed by Mr. Wolbert's being the top 6th grade and Mrs. Eisele with the  top 8th Grade. Overall the 6th grade classes did very well by having 5 of the top 7 spots.

Couldn't be more proud of the time and effort of the students, and the parents that helped their students as hundreds of kids and families will be impacted by their efforts.
